Employment History and Experience

Are you currently employed by a nonunion marine construction company and would like to know how to organize your workplace? Section 7 of the National Labor Relations Act states that “ Employees have the right to self-organization, to form, join or assists labor organizations, to bargain collectively through representatives of their own choosing, and to engage in other concerted activities for the purpose of collective bargaining." There are benefits to employees AND employers in joining Local 25. If you are interested in more information about the benefits of being a Local 25 member, please review the Benefits and Duties of Membership page. If you would like to gather information on reasons your employer should be interested in becoming a signatory contractor with Local 25 (becoming a “Union Company”), please review the Contractors page. We have no desire to have an adversarial relationship with our Signatory Contractors and aim to work together to create the most skilled, professional, well trained and loyal workforce in the industry. If you would like to find out more about how to organize your current workplace, please call one of our Business Agents and we can discuss the options available to you, your coworkers and your employer.
