There have been some positive developments for our members in regards to the Vacation Plan!
The Board of Trustees has agreed to increase the Vacation Plan benefit by adding 4 hours to each benefit level, effective October 1, 2017. This means that every member who reaches 2000 hours of covered employment during the fiscal year will receive 4 more hours of pay than they did last year when they apply for their Vacation Pay.
In addition to the benefit increase, the Board recently decided to amend the Vacation Plan to provide that, effective October 1, 2017, ALL participants will qualify for Vacation Benefits so long as they work at least 500 hours in covered employment during a fiscal year. Previously, employees who first worked under Local 25 after October 1, 2005 had to work at least 1000 hours to be eligible for benefits. This change in eligibility will positively effect many of our members and we are pleased to offer to this to our members.
